I agree that the politics of "group identity" and aggrieved classes creates a sense of victimhood. But there are plenty of victims in our society who aren't liberals. And, there are many conservatives who rely on the goverment for support. This isn't just a liberal characteristic.

Agreed. I am a liberal, but lib extremists (commonly known as "hippies" or "yuppies") annoy the crap out of me. Conservative extremists annoy me more, but not by too much.

You cannot compare Liberalism of the 18th. Century to what is called Liberalism today, Etta.
The men of that era would not recognize what passes as Enlightenment today.

is pretty much Liberal mantra.

As to support and political affiliation, I would LOVE to see the actual numbers of folks on both side of the aisle who are on chronic welfare or other forms of gov support.

And which victim class do you identify with? (if any)
