maybe i am not seeing it.

this article is very big on "icentives" for insurance, YA KNOW cause their wicked old money driven white men in suits, they need to be reigned in.

Strange i dont see what the incentive to be healthy and not abuse ones body is?

What happens when you smoke.

When your morbidly obese.

abuse drugs.

participate in crazy sports like rock climbing, stunt bikes, hang gliding, glacier climing etc.

I see ZERO incentives for the individual.

why is this

with medical stuff demand often increases innovation, more doctors take it up as a prodecure, and costs go down.

Look at lasik for example.

A healthy kid breaking a leg and needing to be put under and go under the knife can easily cost $10-$13k

so double that for two knees thats $26k.

then you have a tremendous risk old folks will die under the knife, or they will sue when they dont turn out right.

Not sure if you meant one surgery was $56k or total for having it done twice.

If it was done twice, that is a fair price i think. Not chump change, but if one is healthy and thinks they are going to live 20 more years, i would do it in a second. You cant take the money with you.

I think it sounds a lot better than our system because it puts the decision-making in the hands of the individual.
This quotes one individual that that gave up an obviously crappy lifestyle and got off the couch. THe rest is outsider observations. If this is all you've got, I rest my case. Game over, you lose.
