Actually, I thought it was interesting that the greeting between Obama and Jack McCain was quite affectionate.

I think it is a reflection of the fact that he knows the majority of the military despise him, and that they were intentionally disinfranchised when they were either denied a vote in the presidential election by either not being given ballots in time or not having them counted. A lot of people under the executive feel disinfranchised. Prior to the election Obama called uniformed and non-uniformed Agents/Officers from ICE jack booted thugs and terrorists. So, I guess now DHS considers its own to to be terrorists as well. He has never rescinded or appologized for that statement.

Barack Obama Calls Immigration Enforcement Agency Terrorists

by La Shawn on July 14, 2008
in Illegal Aliens, Liberals - Obama

***Scroll down for clarification***
Future President Barack Hussein Obama makes so many verbal gaffes, it’s barely challenging to find and expose the ignorance.
Race-pandering before the hispanic racialist group La Raza, BHO equated Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the government agency charged with carrying out our nations immigration laws, with terrorism. He said:
“When communities are terrorized by ICE immigration raids…when all that is happening, the system just isn’t working, and we need to change it.”
Play the video below:

Let’s get this straight. Our future president believes it is akin to terrorism – the bombing and decapitating Al Qaeda’s doing all over the globe – for the United States to send its agents into communities to round up blatant lawbreakers. Forget, just for a moment, what he believes about unborn babies, and think about the implications of BHO’s statements.
Not only does he believe what La Raza believes – that the U.S. should have no immigration laws and no borders – but he thinks a nation, one that has nurtured him, protected him, and given him the freedom to speak, has no moral or legal authority to enforce its own laws! Truly maddening.
I take back what I wrote at the top. That’s no verbal gaffe. It’s what BHO believes, and it’s only a shadow of things to come once BHO is president. Immigration raids, in his opinion, are terrorist tactics and most likely will be halted once he takes office.
Others are free to comment on this post, but I especially want to hear from people who plan to vote for BHO. Does it not bother you at all that Obama likens immigration enforcement to terrorism? If it doesn’t, please provide a rational explanation why.
Also see Hot Air
LaterMcCain race-panders, too, of course.
Update: Even if BHO used a poor choice of words (which he does frequently), at the very least, he implied that immigration raids are somehow wrong, for crying out loud. Do you get that? It is wrong for the government to raid businesses and crack down on people who hire illegal workers and to round up workers who in some cases used other people’s social security numbers. Identity theft! For some people, BHO truly is the Messiah, isn’t he?
I have posted this from another source before in the forums, however, I prefer the one's with the imbeded video so the video evidence can speak for itself.

Aditionally, I was raised from birth in a military environment, my father was career military and served in Vietnam. I am very close with my father, and I keep in close touch, he in turn keeps in close touch with the military guys. I know and understand what the military guys generally and universally think. If there wasn't military guys hanging out in my home since before I could remember and not being part of every function that he attended, I could see your point that I just don't understand. I do. The only thing that discouraged me from going the same career route as he did was his own admonition to excell him in another field, and the fact that I felt like I had a career along with him being moved around every 2.5 years or so. Despite my pissing matches with the guys in here want to LEO bash, I have the upmost respect for and appreciate the military and its service, and hate seeing them get screwed. Except for the odd liberal (and growing up they were there-but rare) most military personel tend to be conservative and know they will get the shaft everytime a liberal administration comes into power. This particular one is just doing its best to outdo the others.

The president usually doesn't manage security precautions, the Secret Service does. I'm sure the USNA also had something to do with setting this policy for the event. Obama has consistently shown no reluctance at all to mingle close in with any audience he has encountered, and I'm pretty confident that the SS and the USNA anticipated he might want to do the same at the graduation if this happened.

Have a good day,
First of all, at least at USAFA, it's a sabre, not a sword. That's like calling your weapon a "gun." Big no-no in basic.

Second, of the 4 graduations I attended (including my own,) with 2 Presidents, 1 VP, and 1 SecDef as the speakers, the seniors always carried ceremonial sabres, as that was part of Parade Dress. It is the height of paranoia to make the Middies leave theirs behind. But then again, that's the BO administration at its finest.

Are you going to change his "oil" later as well? I hear you two can get married in some states, which of course I oppose. It is amazing that tradition must change because our military men are not to be trusted.

'First of all,' the OP said "ceremonial swords," so that's what I used in reference.

Second, you must have missed my earlier post regarding the uniform of the day and who sets the rules.

The only reason you would ask such a question, 'sir,' is that you evidently like to watch that sort of activity. I suggest that you would find an outlet for your interest in such things at your local adult arcade, where they probably know you on a first name basis.

I agree! You should write a letter to the Commandant at the USNA for his prohibiting swords/sabers, and umbrellas. Post it here after you send it, please.

It also just occured to me what a bunch of BS the title of this thread is. In the President's address, he showed nothing but the utmost respect for those who were about to graduate from the USNA. I doubt many here even bothered to watch it, but I did, and he did an outstanding job of recognizing these new leaders in the USN and USMC and thanking them for their service and dedication. If that's 'taking a swipe' then I'd like to have a few of those, myself. LOL!

Have a happy whatever,
