i gotta admit, if i was in shape, and didnt have certain things holding me back... i'd join. and not for the money... though that would be a nice perk.

Maybe the Government should start recruiting the elderly for kamakaze missions.......You could just tell 'em that Iraq is the new Florida (for PERMANENT retirement)!

Me too. My wife would kill me before I got on the plane, but the way things are going I'm getting motivated. I'm one of those grabastic amphibian turds who never served because I generally refuse to kill because some politician says so. That is being overruled by the way things are going in the Mid-East though. Yes, I am actually more likely to enlist as things go to $hit. The terrorists have made things wide open war, and the quibbles I have about our a$$hats in charge look milder by comparison every day. I might not be in as good shape as when I was 19, but I'm a helluva lot smarter now. A great bod doesn't do much good if you've just done something stupid and gotten yourself killed.

I guess it was an over-generalization on my part, lumping all of the bay area in with SF.
