Army raises enlistment age

The Militia (Guard, if you will), and today's Army is voluntary...Where do you come up with a draft in my post.
The section is only stressing age limitations to serve…

Isn't it sad that you should be kept from doing that because of your age? some on this board should would love it if you weren't able too. After all you would probably make the army slower.

BTW if you are prior service, the signing bonus is not applicable.

Something I have thought of in recent years is that we maybe should get away from age or gender requirements and simply stick to physical requirements. If a person and do X amoung of pushups, run 5 miles in Y amount of minutes, lift Z amount of weight, then maybe that person can qualify for a particular military task, regardless of age or gender.

I think females were originally barred (and maybe still are) as fighter pilots because most cannot take the G-forces required in tight maneuvers. However, if you had a female who could take those G-forces, then there is no longer a reason to bar her from the training.

Just my two cents.

Now WHY do you think it is that they feel the need to raise the age limit and the signing bonus?
