You've conveniently avoided actually responding to my post above.
This is what I was trying to tell you in another thread. I was posting very close to the same time you were. I didn't see what you posted till after I posted.

Seems to me that when people stopped buying beef in England, that might have been a little incentive to get their act together.

And what makes you think that government could/would have forseen this situation? Food and meat production was already regulated -- why didn't government figure out a solution before the problem got out of hand?

Because it can't. Government can't forsee all problems, and when it does recognize problems, half the time the solution makes things worse.

I agree but free trade over rules.

You posted twice since I posted the explanation of your milk dilemma and before I called you on not responding to it. You saw it.

Don't bother arguing with oefm. He is the resident Marxist on this forum. He is firmly against free trade, capitalism, rich people and our existing democratic republic form of government.

one-eyed-marxist has no answers, only doom and gloom, but at least he is consistently bad news.

Just one more reason economics should be a required course in school for everyone.

The thing I love...I've said how many time (2-3) that it apparently is NOT an open market (maybe he does not understand free trade = open market), yet he still feels like arguing with me, telling me it's not an open market.

t's great, even when he can't get people that disagree, he has to argue against them as if they do. He probably pre-wrote all of his responses and every time he logs on, just posts the next one without reading what anyone's said

Government regulations usually take the free out of free markets.

The funeral business has been over-priced for decades, but I will get even with them - cremation rules.

If you've ever had to deal with that industry (and as your parents/grnadparents age...unfortunately, we all will)...you will find that the funeral industry is a crooked as a dog's hind leg.

Outrageously expensive and merely a bunch of slick salesmen that prey on people's emotions at a difficult time. I actually thought they ADDED to our troubles, when my father-in-law passed, rather than helped in any capacity. The way that those folks kept pushing for us to buy the more expensive casket and other memorials and spend all sorts of money, was completley unethical and forever tainted my view of this industry.

PS Yes, as a true believer in open markets, this story does not surprise me one bit about this shady industry.

I guess these guys didn't read the story. It isn't about free trade it's about people ripping people off. Apparently we have people here that think it's OK to cheat people.

Your a banker. They have rules and reg's for bankers. They make those rules and reg's so you can't easily cheat people. The government made those rules and reg's because they know if they were not in place you would cheat people. Do bankers have to get rabies shots every year? I think the gov needs to make another reg.
