A good read. I'm glad that more and more people are opening themselves up to firearm ownership and realizing that if they don't protect themselves, nobody else will.
It also illustrates pretty clearly why gun bans aren't going to help anyone, but that is just preaching to the choir here.
it's horrible to hear her circumstance, but hopefully, she'll do better with this new outlook, and the outlook Ned gets down the short barrel of her .38

GUNS?!!?! Who needs guns when you have flowers and hugs?
The sad part is that she's terrified of guns and if she ever has to pull out her gun she may be to scared to use it.
Most of that can be blamed on the way she was brought up.
If parents are honest with their kids about how crappy life can be and what they must know to deal with the stuff that will inevitably come along, the kids will do much better and will not be as easily hurt.
That goes for everything from relationships to self-defense and everything in between.

Her fear of guns can probably be overcome fairly quickly if she follows the author's advice and signs up for a few classes and puts in some time on the range.

Seen a news report the other day about a local woman who went jogging. When she got back to her house and opened the garage door a man pushed her inside.
She was able to break free and run into the house, with him following. But she had enough time to get to her gun. She pointed it at him and he left.
Turns out that this same guy attacked her before. That's the reason she got the gun. Only problem I see is that she didn't pull the trigger. If the guy 'felt lucky' he might have been able to wrestle the gun away from her.
I've already made up my mind that if I'm in a situation that calls for me to draw my gun to protect myself, then I'm going to be prepared to pull the trigger.

Good read! I thought the ending kind of sucked though. I think he handled the situation very well. Wish her luck!

Interesting read sounds like she's in the right direction. I'm curious just *how* "Ned" found her after two moves. She probably posted on her My Space sight "I'm moving tomorrow, like, OMG".
Just seems fishy that "Ned" had the resources to track her down... twice... and how he keeps finding out what guys she's dating? Hmm.
