but its the people of Kalifornia that have brought this on themselves.
Quote:

einheit 13, it's not the people of California that did this, it's the majority of the populace in SF only. Don't lump all of us with those wackos.

I agree, this is not a gun loving state, just look at all of the restrictions we have and the hoops manufacturers have to go thru to sell a firearm here. Plus, we still have the assault weapon ban in place. But, even tho we are not a "shall issue" state (I wish we were, so many others could get a permit), the various counties do issue ccw permits; albiet some more than others. SF county (it's a city/county govt.) only has issued 10 per packing.org., others issue permits much more readily.

I was able to obtain my ccw easily being former le, but I believe we should be a shall issue state so any qualified resident can obtain one also.

I'm not happy about what Frisco did and I certainly hope the NRA wins or it may will spread thruout this state and elsewhere. If it ever gets to the point where it is outlawed in this state everywhere, I'll move, even tho I will be far away from my kids and grandkids (and maybe divorced ).

Just fishing here, couldn't the State law makers step in and help??

Thats a good question!

I really wish some people have more guts than they do. The history of supreme court cases tells us how they interpret the 2nd, and they do it in our favor.

Arnold could take them to court, but wont, Bush could send someone to take them to court, but wont.

If the NRA gets to the supreme court I have no doubt it will be overturned but it shouldnt have to make it that far, the courts opinion on the 2nd is already known.

Believe it or not this ALMOST pisses me off as much as the supreme courts decision that you can bulldoze a neighborhood to build a casino if the casino benifits the locals more than the neighborhood.

I forget the case, but I'll put money down that over 80% of Americans disagree with this. So why cant Bush do like another President did (I forget who it was, and why he said it) and say something to the effect of "have fun upholding that law, I wont".

How about even a governor denouncing the case as a violation of rights and saying that it wont happen in his state?

This sucks, I am going to buy my first house and some asshole can come take it at market value to build a golf course.

Sorry about the rant, but the best answer to why wont the government do it is because I beleive politicians these days are a bunch of sissies.

If you dont piss ANYONE off, you definitely wont piss off the fat wallets. Shut your mouth and go with the flow.

Crap.

Yes, where ARE the conservative leaders (so called), like Ahnold or Bush on the SF gun ban? They call themselves Republicans and champion their pledge to uphold Constitutional rights and Bush paints himself as a friend of gun owners.

Ahnold? Well, he ran as a Republican and surely, with his background, he knows the results of living in a society where only the cops, military (and the crooks) have the guns. Of the many things the Republican leaders get compared to Nazis on, staying mute on that gun ban would be the best example of Nazi-like activity I have seen so far by the Republican party.

Where ARE these two so-called conservative leaders?

You know where they are? Ducking and hiding...thats where. They KNOW deep down, this is a sh*tty deal and possibly unconstitutional, but these linguini-spined leaders will probably do nothing about it and the ban will stand in place.

Awful...truly awful.

too funny......

Daly thinks Chicago is his own little dump country...... but, DC wont step in on the SF gun ban, the cities can make there own "city ordinances" which are different from federal laws.....happens all the time, hanguns are illegal in Chicago. the city isnt violating federal law, the people can always move and have their guns....there arent even any gunshops in the entire city of chicago, and Daly was the boob that was trying to sue firearm manufacturers for the deaths in chicago....

To many anti-Democrats in control in this state. I will reiterate what I have posted before; I honestly believe there are many in this state, private citizens and legislators, who want guns outlawed completely.

Having Boxer and Feinstein (2 gun haters, but who both have ccws) as U.S. senators doesn't help, as they have tremendous influence in this state. And as was said, Arnold won't do anything.

Liberal/Democrat Nirvana has arrived.

As San Francisco Gun Ban Approaches, Police and Attorneys Lose Jobs

SAN FRANCISCO, California --- As the San Francisco gun ban prepares to go into affect, city officials announced that they have begun laying off hundreds of police officers as well as lawyers in the district attorney's office. They have nothing to do now that crime has virtually stopped with the impending gun ban.

"We have hundreds of people sitting around with nothing to do now," said Gavin Newsom, San Francisco's first gay mayor. "Since this proposition passed, thousand of guns have been turned in by gang members, criminals, and other citizens. Crime has virtually disappeared. Half of our police force literally sits in the station and plays video games or checkers. Or they shoot holiday videos. Our 911 calls have dropped by 90%. The prosecutions in our DA's office have almost disappeared. I have no choice but to let these people go find work elsewhere.

My fear is that while this ban was an amazing idea, it might cause unemployment to skyrocket. The lack of crime combined with thousands of criminals now seeking legal jobs has flooded our job market with new applicants."

Another unintended consequence has been a dramatic decline in the demand for locksmith services or key duplication services. Residents in San Francisco have begun removing locks and leaving doors unlocked thanks to the gun ban. However, local merchants in the lock business are being devastated by the abrupt halt to the demand for their services. Even bail bond services have begun shutting their doors due to a virtual disappearance of new clients.

Well what's going to happen now since handguns are illegal? Someone is going to defend their apartment with an AK and it's going to go through a wall and eat a puppy and then semi-auto rifles will get banned.
