"And, absolutely, we need earmark reform. And when I'm president, I will go line by line to make sure that we are not spending money unwisely."
Action: The omnibus spending bill that passed yesterday had nearly 9,000 earmarks, which will cost taxpayers upwards of $7 billion dollars for things such as, subterranean termite research, cricket research, tatoo removal, etc. The economic stimulus package was also filled with pork, including millions to the smithsonian and to build a power plant in Illinois.
Sunlight Before Signing: Too often bills are rushed through Congress and to the president before the public has the opportunity to review them. As president, Obama will not sign any non-emergency bill without giving the American public an opportunity to review and comment on the White House website for five days.
Action: The stimulus bill was only finalized merely hours before Obama signed it. However, some might consider this an "emergency bill", so I have more examples.
The Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act was the FIRST bill that Obama signed into law. Only two days passed from when it was finalized in congress to when Obama signed it. The White House actually posted the text of the bill and asked for public comment 2 HOURS AFTER obama signed the bill!!!!
The 2nd bill that he signed had to do with the State Children's Health Insurance Program, or SCHIP. That was signed only hours after final passage by congress.
"During 2009 and 2010, existing businesses will receive a $3,000 refundable tax credit for each additional full-time employee hired."
Action: This never happened and was NOT even a part of the stimulus bill or any other bill so far. It appears to have just been something Obama threw out there in order to sway a few small business owners to vote for him.

As you can see, Obama has broken a promise AND violated his own executive order. The promises were nothing more than a pony show to convince voters that change was coming.
There are all the ones I can find so far. If anyone here knows of additional ones, please feel free to add them to this thread.
I am also curious if any members of the resident obama intelligencia have anything to say on behalf of their messiah for all the promises he has broken. Is this truly change we can believe in?
And please try your best to come up with something besides, "well, bush lied and people died". Also, I know it is difficult, by try to leave out references to Sarah Palin. Thank you.
Though all this is true from my memory's standpoint, it would be powerfully stronger if you had links to his speeches from youtube or the washington compost/ny slimes.
Thanks for reminding me how great this country once might have been Frank...

Good research Frank.
And we will find more broken promises as time goes on.
I agree--excellent points made here!
I am curious to see how the liberal base (not just the token Democrats on this forum) defends this hypocracy to the general public. America needs to wake up and smell the crap!

You will find out during the '12 Presidential election.
Trust me, you will be hearing something similar to...
"America, the change we need in this country, that we have been fighting to get for so long, is going to take longer than 4 years to accomplish!". (he actually already alluded to this during his victory speech on election night. He said that change might take longer than 1 term.)
and...
"America, the damage done in the 8 years of the previous administration is going to take longer than 4 years to undo!"
Trust me...you will hear something along those lines from the obama camp.
Some of the sources I used are Obama's own websites.
Not sure what you are trying to say here, sorry.
Frank
I believe WIFF is trying to give you some advise on packaging. Your original post has the makings of an awesome political ad starting in 2010. Seeing Barry say those lines with video carries more weight than just reading the quotes.
