As far as this board goes...guilty as charged for me. I often opine versus debate...kind of 'drive by comments'. But I do try to be honest as possible...and give an example or two as it related from my perspective. I do not claim scholar or SME status in politics.

IMO-The Republican's need someone who is willing to speak, speak loud, mean what they say...and admit--"Your damn right I am head of the Party, next question".

Not sure Steele is the man right now. Which begs the question...who is?

Steele seems to also be from the "no balls club" as McCain and Dole.

The Republican party will come back, when they give themselves an enema and flush out the squishy and middle of the road types that are nothing more than easy punching bags for the left.

The Democrats win because they stick together, stay focused on common goals and are not afraid to take the gloves off. Its not that they have a better plan...they just stick together and attack when necessary. If the Reps can grow a pair and get rid of the pansies...they'll clean their clocks.

Until that time...forget it.

In all honesty, I agree with what you said, with the caveat that the "common goal" of the Democrats was George W. Bush, in other words, they united behind Bush bashing (deserved or not is for another discussion). We'll see how long they can ride that horse and what they do when they can't anymore...
