truglo vs XS sights
I'm currently shooting an XD9 Service model for home defense and IDPA. Being 50+ and having had lasik, I'm having trouble seeing my target and the front sight. I recently had Dawson precision sights put on the gun. They are far better than the stock sights, but still not what I want.
I'm currently considering Truglos and XS sights. Has anyone had experience with both that they can share before I spend more money. Unfortunately, both are had to come by in Nashville. Thanks in advance for any help. Joe ragtimejoe@comcast.net |

Hey Joe and welcome to the forum from NJ. I dont have experience with either but if you do a search in the forum for this topic there are alot of posts that cover all different kinds of sights.

Joe,
The XS setup is more of a front-sight picture only presentation. If you are looking for more of a notch and post setup, the TRUGLO is the better setup. OS

I installed a set of truglo tritium's green frt/yellow rear, several months ago and am still amazed at them. Lots of people say they're fragile, well I recentlly dropped my xd40 sub on the rear of the slide from four feet to the blacktop and though it bent the lasermax takedown pin , it DIDN'T damage the sights. Thats about as good a testimonial as you can get. Yeah, that hurt me too, but I got in a hurry.

Hi Joe, I'm also here in middle TN. I installed XS Big Dot sight on my XD9 service which is also my carry gun, I'm 67 and need all the help I can get and love these sights. They do take a little getting use to. And for the guy from NJ I'm formally from NJ.

I just got my slide back with the Truglo sight. I think I'm going to like them a lot.
