Here's my first attempt at posting pictures. This is my IDPA gun with recently installed Pistolgear Operator Magwell and Canyon Creek extended mag release.

Let's see how it goes.

Old School,

I assume an XD9 Tactical with the Operator magwell and base pads still fits in the IDPA box? Perhaps an obvious question, but I wanted to ask it to make sure.

Thanks for all the XD goodies.

Operator Magwell Jam

Hey guys, just wanted to say I have ordered a few things from Pistolgear.com and they are awsome! Very fast shipping times and have great products. I could not wait for the operator to be in stock so I could take of the flimsy plastic magwell I had on there before and install a quality piece on my 5" tact .40. But after putting it on and installing the base pads on Fri afternoon I had a CCW match shoot on sunday. Well that went really bad! The mags would not drop out free but instead had to be pulled out and one was so hard to get out I ended up pulling the basepad off trying to get the clip out and had to lock back the slide and push it out from the top. Got home and noticed that the front part of the bottom plate on the clip was hitting the inside of the magwell and causing it to kind of wedge in as the clip locked into place. Well to fix this I used a dremmel and took some of the lip off of the clip until it would drop free. No big deal but just a heads up to pistol gear to maybe play around with this some, but it is a great part and now that I have that fixed I am back in business.

Thanks for the write up and sorry for the trouble. If you have a camera, can you email us a picture? I ask because we have not seen this before and want to understand what is binding and where. Are these the stock basepads or do you have a magazine extension on the mags?

You can see the rub mark on the front of the magwell where the clip was in a bind.

Well that's your problem, right there! Your magwell is not tight enough against the frame. In the first pic there is a gap. There should be no gap. Loosen both screws and hit the magwell on the bottom until it fully seats on the frame. Again, there should be no gap on the sides and rear.
