For the 9/40 frame, we are just a couple of weeks out. We are in production with those now. For the 45 frame, it will be about 5 weeks.

Scott: I just ordered my magwell, but I held back on getting any mag extensions for the time being. I know that the magwell is designed to work with any extension, but can you recommend one that works well (and fits in the IDPA box)? I'll defer to your experience before hitting the order button... Buying 12 of the wrong one can get awfully expensive.

Do you have a picture of the upcoming slam pads? Maybe a picture of one insterted in the new magwell?

How much thicker can the basepad be and still be IDPA legal (fit in the box)? How much thicker does it need to be below the Pistol Gear mag-well?

We are going to have two "Slam Pads"; both of which will be helpful with the magwells.

The "Down Zero" Slam Pads will be for the Operator Magwell or General Purpose.

The "Two Alpha" Slam Pads are a little thicker than the "Down Zero" version, because of the extra length on the UnLimited Magwell.

Both options will extend below the magwells just enough to guarentee a full seat of the magazine. The "Down Zero" version will still fit in the IDPA box.

I will post some pics as soon as we get some of the production samples back. It will be about a week or so.

Here is a picture of the XD, with both the Magwell and Slam Pads installed. As you can see, even with the Dawson Adjustable Sights installed, there is a little room left in the box. This was done on purpose, as in some major matches, there is a stage or two where the gun starts in a closed IDPA box.

The inset picture has three colored lines. The Green Line is the bottom of the magwell. The Red Line is the bottom of the Slam Pad. The Yellow Line is the edge of the box.
