I almost wish I got out of it that cheap. My wife when I met her was a shooter. She has an old Auto Ordinance 1911, and she loves it so much that she really wanted a commander series one. we ended up finding on consignment an old Colt C.C.O. Used it was like $900. Mind you this was while I was on my way to buy my XD-9 w/ trijicons, so valintines day cost me something like $1500...But she did say that if I got her that gun i could get out of any fancy dinners, or presents for V-day.

I will say that it has made her happy, and we now plan range time together, and are looking into the IDPA stuff at the range we go to.

Here is her CCO....you all know what an XD-9 looks like.

I told my wife about the trend toward pink guns. She told me the following, "I don't want a gun that looks like a toy, and if I have to use it, I want people to take me seriously." That is probably why she totes around my Glock 22 .40

A gun that is pink is no more of a toy than a gun that is black. Color makes no difference, as it is the user who controls the situation. If the gun is drawn, I will bet that the BG will never see the color of the gun. The BG will be thinking about other things.
