My wife HS2000 is a great gun; wish I kept it for myself.

That said, she promises to shoot some matches this year and we are both shooting the WI IDPA Championship together. That will be a lot of fun!

This latest one I got is like new - not a mark on it. I may not have any new finish put on it - at least not for now. There are still some of these out there. It's funny, I found the original price tag for this pistol in the box - $275.00. I'd like a dozen new ones for that now!

I've got to make sure my daughter (11 yrs) doesn't see that picture of the pink XD.....she'll either want one for herself or make me send in her P22 to get "painted".

Hey, Dad. If it will get her interested in shooting and spending time with her Pa, I would say, "Paint the gun and have fun!"

The idea of coating the frame was considered, but I felt it was best to do just the slide. If for some reason that gun needs to change colors again, I can remove the pink and respray the slide. The frame would not be as easy.

KG GunKote is not removable unless you have a sandblaster available. Unlike Duracoat, GunKote is a baked finish that has some really neat properties.

If some day we want to lose the pink slide, off to the sandblaster she goes.

I agree, Great job! I've been wanting my wife to start shooting with me also. I think I will take the same approach.
Question for oldschool.
who did you send the gun to for the custom finish?

I sent the slide to Rich at www.canyoncreekcustom.com. If you give him a call, he may work you a deal because he have plenty of pink left in the can.

During our recent Group Shoot, many of the guys asked her if she was shooting too, and she said no several times over. During the ride home, I asked her a direct question. What will it take for you to go shooting with me? She said, and I quote, "When they start making pink guns". Well, little did she know, that was easy.

I bought a used HS2000 from Bubbaman and sent it to Rich at Canyon Creek for some trigger work and a nice fresh coat of PINK GunKote. While Rich worked on the gun, I ordered a custom holster from Blade-Tech to match her new gun.

A note to all of you in the same position. Not only does my wife LOVE her new HS2000 and "cute" holster, but she asks me when we are going shooting next, often. I am in heaven.

Thats gonna leave a scar...
