I use a BladeTech Drop and Offset holster and love it for IDPA (basic black though, I think for Christmas I'm getting one from Ready Tactical in blue to match my mag pouches) The D&O design literally took at least a second off my draw. And best of all, no more bruised ribs or breast. If a gal's got curves anywhere, especially between the waist and hips, or if she's a little top heavy, get her one of these for Christmas and she'll enjoy the sports even more. I was stubborn and just kept saying I'd shoot with a regular holster. My fiance was tired of me being sore from drawing the gun so he bought me the D&O holster. It was love at first draw. I highly recommend it for any woman not built like a boy. Take care, Melissa |

Melissa Ann, thanks for that post...I have a terrible time with holsters, for that exact reason. When I was a Paramedic carrying Motorola radios, I would have bruises and/or callouses on my ribs from the antenna canting into me, just as you described.
With my Sigma 9, I picked up an Uncle Mike's #15 three slot (which will fit the XD too), figuring this would work better for me, but I actually ended up using it cross-draw. Not good. I wish more attention was paid to holsters for women. Back to the topic starter, I personally would be mortified to show up anywhere with a bubblegum pink weapon....although I must say, if I pointed that at a bad-guy, they would probably laugh so hard, they would wet their pants. |

Why would you be mortified to show up with a Pink holster? My wife wanted a pink gun and I got her a pink holster to match. She likes it, which is all that matters. Others can laugh, but we laugh back. We laugh back at those who take themselves seriously at the range. You know, the Tactial Tommy types. Too cool and hardcore for the rest of us.

You have a point.
Guess I was in Emergency Services so long, black is normal to me. Although, I eventually switched to a hot-pink stethoscope and medic-shears... A- they were easily noticed and not so easily left behind, and B- so the male Fire Fighters would stop stealing them from me. (it worked, guess they did not want to go through the ribbing they would get back at the station) In the meantime, you are a great husband, and congrats to your wife for picking a good one. |

I bought my girlfriend a pink holster and mag holders from Ready Tactical a couple years ago. For Christmas last year I had her slide hard chromed and bought a new barrel for her HS2000. This year I'm trying to find somewhere to get the frame recolored pink. Any ideas?

The KG GunKote will stick to the polymer frame. Give Rich at Canyon Creek a call. I know he has pink left over.
