I've been toying with the idea of a ported barrel for my XD. Understandingly, the price would increase, but would it be possible for you to port a tactical match barrel for my service model to look like the EFK's?

Or do you think it would be less of a hassle for both of us for me to buy straight from EFK? I'd rather go through you guys if I could.

If it were me, I would get a match barrel, have the barrel lock-up fitted, send it to Mag-na-port for porting, then have someone finish out the crown.

Mag-na-port EDMs two ports on the end of the barrel, giving the blast a downward 'V' pattern when you fire. I believe this will offer up the best results and Mag-na-port charges $89 for the service. They are the master at this.

Interesting! I was checking out their website and they place the ports .5" from the muzzle. Do you think the 5" barrel on my service will provide enough room for the ports? Or were you suggesting that I get a 4" barrel and have them create the ports through the slide?

Keep in mind that the Match barrel is 1" longer than the Tactical barrel, allowing folks to port or thread as required. One of the step required when fitting the barrel is cutting the barrel to length and adding the crown.

If you go the Mag-na-port route, you will want to have your smith mark where the slide ends, where the port goes (~.5" from end of slide) and where the length will be cut (~.5") This will give you the best results.
