edit: Just got fedex tracking - will be at FFL this Wednesday! Which means I'll have by end of April. First match with this gun on May 5th. So will end up well, thankfully!

Just went to the FFL to check it out -

Rich did a beautiful job, trigger feels nice an crisp with minimal creep and overtravel - dare I say it? Feels almost like my 1911 triggers. [No, don't get me into the Springer vs. Canyon argument - I have guns from both - they are both superb gunsmiths and I'd recommend either one].

Barrel nice and taut, sight picture with the Dawson FO w/ Bomar rear sights looks great - quick front sight pick up.

Can't wait to shoot it! - Pick up on the 30th.

Still haven't heard from Novak on my XD9 threaded barrel. It was recieved 4-3-07. I will keep the board advised

I spoke with Tom on Friday. I thought he stated that your gun was due out today or tomorrow. Give him a call. I know, like all of the good smiths, he is busy.

Shot it today, unsupported 2-3" at 15 yds, bag/benched 2" at 25yds - but just once. 5 shot groups, using 115gr. FMJ, UMC factory ammo. Couldn't duplicate these grouping, but that's due to my lack of skill, not the gun/barrel, which is far more accurate than I am!

Then gave the gun a good workout of another 200 rds, various speed drills, etc., absolutely no issues with the gun. Shoots fast, quick followups, accurate - perfect for matches!

Thanks Scott and Rich for a fantastic combination! I'll be shooting it Production this Saturday in Reno to give it a thorough workout.

A great initial report. If you shoot factory ammo, make sure you test several brands. Not all brands like all guns. You will see that one brand will constantly shoot well out of your new XD.

She looks great, congrats!

when is the 40 and the 9mm conversion due out.

my gun gonna head to springfield for an extractor and a neww locking block, with a swing buy the custom shop for a finish and match fit barrel kinda want yours as i dont want to spend the outrages barsto prices

We are targeting the end of June for both. Things are slow moving with the machine time and the testing.

The good news is, the Springfield Custom Shop is going to offer the barrel as an option. You will be able to buy it from us and has us ship it, or buy it from them directly. The choice will be yours.
