As of now, I am not aware of a release date from Don.

Guide Rod waiting at home for me. I'll have a nice range report with pics posted in the next few days.

Should you have a question or concern with it...

Q: I recently received the Tungsten Guide Rod I ordered for my XD45ACP Service model. This guide rod included a 21# spring. I believe I received the wrong spring, as I cannot get the slide onto the frame with the rod and spring installed.
A: The spring you received is correct. Because this is a stout spring, you will need to force the slide back by hand, allowing you to "close" the take-down lever. Once the slide is closed, and during use, the spring will collapse a bit, making this process easier moving forward. The trick with the XD45ACP Service model is finding a spring that is stout enough in order to give the spring some service life and to make the gun function as required.

I just got back from the range a couple hours ago. I have about 125 rounds through my 45 compact and the CC guide rod. (450 rounds total)

It feels better with the CC to me & worked perfectly. Combined with the shooting advice I received on this web site, the center of my targets are beginning to take some abuse at 15 yards. Follow up shots felt very comfortable.

What Old School just posted is exactly correct.

I'd buy it again.

Nick

I am awaiting the arrival of a new spring. The original spring would not bring the pistol to full battery and coil end overlapped at one end.

I have installed the new spring and put 150 rnds through the weapon. The slide lock engages easier and the pistol comes to full battery now.

The XD-45ACP Service Canyon Creek Tungsten Guide Rod is awesome! Follow up shots are much more consistant and the gun has a more balanced feel to it.

What is the weight of the OEM guide rod spring? I presume 21lbs. Has anyone shot IPSC with downloaded reloads using the 18 or 16lb spring?

Thx.

As quickly as Rich can get some material and find the time to turn some out. We should have some near the end of the month.
