Hooz - Once you've run some rounds through your XD after installing the kit I'd like to hear your opinion on how well it works.

I'm hoping to get it put in my SC this weekend. I got mine directly from Springer (before I knew PG would carry them), and I paid the extra $5 for the polishing.

Now I just need to figure out what I want to do about my trigger-bar.

Just got home, so I thought I'd take/post a picture. I'll add more when I put it in my XD-9SC... Hopefully this weekend.

Scott (at Springer Precision) recommends polishing the contact points on the sear, but since I'd rather leave that up to a compentent 'smith, I had him do it for an extra $5. You can see the three spots that he polished in the picture below.

So whats the difference in this upgrade kit, and getting a trigger job on it for less pull?

In the PistolGear tests of this sear kit, it reduced trigger pre-travel by 50% and trigger pull weight decreased by 25%. Basically you're getting a 2/3 trigger-job for less money and you can do it yourself. For another $20 you can send your trigger bar (or "bow", depending on who you ask) to Springer Precision and he will drill and tap it for you (the other 1/3 of the trigger-job) to address trigger over-travel.

It won't be as good as a full-blown, custom fit trigger job from a reputable 'smith, but it'll be a whole helluva lot cheaper. Especially when you factor in the extra $75 in FedEx charges to send your gun back-and-forth to the shop.

This kit is for the 9mm/40/.357.

The trigger return spring for the .45 is coming, but not in.

Might be an option for me than, last month I tried to ship it to Springer and got nothing but problems from my local mail carriers. There was a whole thread on that, but I was never got the work done so I will look into this thank you.
