i love mine. went to the range and shot 150rnds of 9mm, 100rnds of the .40, 100rnds of 357, and 250rnds of 223 and never had a problem. just make sure you rock them back in forth in the ear canal.

You are 100% on this. Many feel they are like plug; they are not. You must follow the instructions and rock/twist them so they line the ear canal. They are not to plug the canal like foam plugs.

What is the difference between these and plugs? Besides how you put them in?

Plugs block noise, all noise, from entering the ear. ZEMS divert loud noise away from the ear canal, allowing quieter sounds to enter. Its all about science.

Sounds a lot cheaper than peltors.

Because when you chew gum you flex the ear canal and break the seal of the ZEMS.

What about Surefire EP3

Hey OS:
I just got back from the range and had a chance to try Surefire's EP3 ear protection. It looks like they use similar principle in reducing noise. I have to say that the Surefire works great. I may not go back in using my custom ear plugs. But there is a big price difference between the two. What are your thoughts between the two products?

Thanks
