Let us know how they run on the range. Gun shots are like capgun pops, very nice. I too like the folding option. They take up little space in an already over-packed range bag.

All in all, well worth the money. Highly recommend them. It's nice to have the extra foam earpieces too.

O RLY!,
OS
Had a blizzard blow in last weekend. All shooting was cancelled. Will get two days of in-door USPSA and IDPA matches this weekend.

The ZEMS are IN. Used them for IDPA and USPSA matches this weekend. First stage on Saturday I used the ZEMS then switched back to my electronics for the 2nd stage. Third stage I went back to the ZEMS and used them the rest of the match and also on Sunday for an entire USPSA match. I'm sold on them atleast for in-door shooting. For me, the most effective supression was with the band on the top of the head. Were not as effective with the band behind the head or under the chin. They are not ball cap friendly so I probably won't use them out doors - on bright sunny days anyway. I did notice on their web site that they will be coming out with a hat attachment for behind the head use. Might give it a try bit not sure how much it will shift them around with head movement. The ear cuffs became off set on one side but are easily reformed with a twist of the fingers. Effectiveness, ease of use, and being able to fold them up and stick 'em in your shirt pocket make them a worthy range bag addition.

+1 everything R Dub reviewed, especially the ball cap thing. I had to kind of wedge the band on the top of the ball cap to keep them in one spot. They do work as described. I did notice that if you have them loose on a ball cap or behind the head that if you are wearing a jacket or something that will rub seems to amplify that noise coming into your ears. I could still here the car stereo when not shooting and when shooting muffled the sound very well. They are good quality and work as described. I did not feel comfortable using them for tactical use. They seemed to me that they wanted to move and possibly fall off. I will most likely not use them, I will give them one more shot and if not happy then we will see what happens. I have a military background and have been used to wearing the foam or rubber ear plugs so that may have something to do with why I did not like them.
All and all good product, works as described, just not for me.

I took them for another spin last night. I shot 400 rounds of 45ACP and 9mm, running and gunning, getting ready for Sunday's match. Being a classifier match, I hope to get bumped up to B!

Since I was shooting outdoors and seeing the sun for the first time in months, I wore a ball cap. I didn't have the same issue that you two described. I do snug them down however, so they are tight on my head. I am still amazed on how shots sound like snaps. Flinching has been reduced, which helps with subsequent shots.

Like all products, these are not for everyone. I think they are a great product for newer shooters and shooters who are tired of bulky ear muffs.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, guys.

Scott

I'm going to try them out after you get a few things back up on your site, and I can order them together.

How did you do in your match on Sunday?

It was cold, I shot like hell. My XD was great, I sucked.

I was shooting to fast, not watching my sights. Lesson learned. Slow down!!

Will you be getting any more of the gray ZEMS? If so do you know when? I'm wanting to order a pair at the same time I order an 18# and 20# spring for my DGR.
