Question for OLD SCHOOL
I bought a new ported service 40 xd for the wife to learn to shoot. If I change the barrel to a standard non-ported barrel will i need to change the spring(s) also? I know that it ports gas out of the slide in front, but if the barrels not ported is there a major change in the re-coil or where the gas goes? IMO it should be the same # spring for the ported and non-ported xd?? I expect more re-coil if i go to the unported but ........ Any help would be appreciated and also does the efk firedragon just drop right in going from a 40ported to a 40 unported? If she does not carry it I might

No need to change the spring if you change the barrel, but everyone should have a DGR anyway.

You can use the same guide rod setup that came with your XD, if you choose. The EFK barrel will drop in 80% of the time. The other 20% are fitted by just a little polishing here and there.
You will have a little more recoil, without the porting, of course. Does this help?

We currently have two barrels in stock, for the Service model. Just select the barrel you are needing, from the drop-list.
