pistolgear.com site issue and question

I just thought I'd post this in case the guys at pistolgear weren't aware.

I was poking around on the site today and noticed that when I clicked on an picture, it was covered by a drop down menu.

It was a bit annoying as I'm trying to shop for concealed holsters for the xd40 sc that I'm buying soon.

Just thought you should know if you didn't already.

Also a quick question:

You've probably answered this a thousand times but I'm wondering if they make a conversion barrel for the subcompact? I'm buying a 40 caliber but it would be nice to drop in a 9mm when I'm shooting paper at the range.

thanks!!!

What browser are you running? The error is a JAVA error; usually found when running Netscape.

I was getting the same problem with Firefox 1.07. I upgraded to 1.5 and the problem went away.

Yeah, I'm running Mozilla which is basically the same thing as netscape.

So they don't make them or you don't have them for sale yet?

thanks

They don't make a barrel, as of yet.

As for browsers, all thought some hate IE, IE and FireFox seem to work best. I don't know why Mozilla and NETSCAPE get the JAVA errors.

Its not Java, its JavaScript.

Looking between
http://www.pistolgear.com/proddetail.php?prod=03RS
and
http://www.pistolgear.com/proddetail.php?prod=05GH

I'm going to see if I can find the difference. The bottom one does it, top one doesn't.

I'll tell you Scott, I've specifically avoided your store because of this issue. There's a lot more people out there who are using Mozilla based broswers (Mozilla is the original name) and tailoring to both browser bases is almost a necessity for e-commerce. I'd suggest getting your HTML person on this to figure out what is causing it.

The document that is not doing it has one difference. It has one additional line at 151 that has
Code:
function dummyfunc(){};
aPS[105]=3;aPC[105]=0;aPS[224]=0;aPC[224]=0;aPS[225]=0;aPC[225]=0;aPS[226]=0;aPC[226]=0;
What's the function do?

That's the largest difference I've found thus far between the two.

Anyone else using Mozilla, Netscape, or Firefox...can they chime in to see if one page works and the other doesn't.

You have avoided our store because of this error? Interesting. I will have our web guys do some code review. We test each time a new browser release becomes available. To be honest, I am more worried about our site being secure than I am supporting every and all browsers. FireFox and IE seem to work OK, Mozilla has the issue. Older version of Mozilla where never an issue, it is the newer version for some reason.

Thanks.

The reason for the difference in the javascript is that one product has an option and one product doesn't. When someone tries to place a product in their cart that has options associated with it, a pop-up window appears that says "Please choose from the available options".

Ryan - what's the address of the page you were on when you clicked on the picture? which drop-down menu covered the picture? also, did the menu cover the picture that was the link or cover a picture on the page after you clicked the link?

Sorry for all the questions but I've tried to recreate it but can't.
