Question About GEAR Holsters Packed With XD's

Does the GEAR "hard shell" plastic holster have any effects on the
weapons finish; especially after several presentations~?

Any holster will eventually wear your gun, no matter what. If it touches any portion of the metal, finish wear is inevitable.

That said, retention method has much to do with where it wears the gun and how much you'll see. Something along the lines of leather that virtually "hugs" the gun on all surfaces is going to be a lot more than a kydex holster that mainly holds the pistol by the trigger guard.

Any holster, regardless of the material, will eventually wear the finish of a firearm. Whenever you have contact or friction between materials, you will get wear. That said, you can reduce wear by keeping you slide oiled or by using a product like Armadillo.

I have hundreds, if not thousands, of draws on my XD Tactical and the wear is minor. I am guessing it's because I used Armadillo since day one and the lubrication properties of the product help.
