Angry PistolGear 9mm Conversion Barrel Problems

I'm a new (Feb 09) owner of an XD40 service. This is my first handgun primarily bought for self defense , but it is quickly becoming a hobby of mine.
After searching the forums and reading through several thread about witch conversion barrel was the best, I purchased one from pistolgear. It cam in yesterday and when i installed it, i noticed that it does not fit securely in the slide as the standard issued 40 cal barrel does. Also when cocked the slide doesn't slide all the way back. I have to "shake the gun slight in order for it to slide all the way back. I took it to the range today and had two of the bullets stovepipe and 3 FTE. Also the shots I placed did not go anywhere near where I was aiming. They all went up and to the right of the target. Im assuming this is because the barrelt moves when the bullet is fired. Any suggestions and how I can get it to fit properly. So far and am very dissapointed and I am wondering if I should have went with the EFK conversion barrel. Please HELP!

I am not sure which barrel you ordered, But I do believe it has to be fitted.... PistolGear will take care of it if it is defective for sure. They are great people to deal with and have been on this board as a commercial sponsor for many years....

Shoot them a email, Or a phone call on Monday, although I am sure there will be a response to this thread before then....

Did you get a 9mm barrel or a 9mm conversion barrel? There IS a difference.

Other than that, I'm not sure if the pistolgear brand requires it, but most aftermarket barrels require a gunsmith fitting them properly.

It should be stamped on the Barrel "Pistolgear XD (or XDm) 9 x 19 CNV". If it doesn't have the "CNV" you have the wrong barrel. The exterior of the barrel should measure the same diameter as your stock barrel. It should lockup solidly when the slide is retracted. The tongue & groove notches on the base of the barrel should mesh exactly and fit tightly with the matching notches on the slide. If any of this doesn't agree 100% with your conversion barrel, do not use. From your description of the problems, I definately wouldn't use again until at least after conversation with pistolgear even if it does match what it should be..

Why would you come to post here instead of coming to us first? Clearly, as others have stated, there is a problem and an easy one to fix. It is quite easy that a standard barrel, and not a conversion barrel, was sent in error.

Send an email to HELP at PISTOLGEAR do COM and we will get you out what you need.

Regards,
Scott

PistolGear is one of the best and most reliable vendors I have dealt with. You may rest assured that if there is a problem or if a mistake was made, Scott and his crew WILL make it right.

In the world of on-line sales, Scott is one of the good guys. People reading this thread who may not be familiar with PistoGear need to know that.

Without any information from the customer or having seen the barrel shipped, I would bet that we sent a standard 9mm barrel instead of a conversion barrel in error.

We made a mistake. The barrel is solid. As we always do, we will take care of the customer. We just need to hear from him.

It took 3 barrel's from bar-sto before they finally shipped the correct one to me for my 1911 last year. So it does happen, The customer should have inspected what he bought, to be sure that it was what he ordered, And should have knows something was wrong when he installed it and it did not look right.... We are talking about guns here, You should never ever buy a part and withought looking it over install in on your weapon. If it does not fit right, or look right, You should not chance it by taking it out and firing it.... That is how you damage a firearm, and cause injury.....
