My very own Hogzilla!
Went hog hunting yesterday...took the biggest bar hog that has been taken off the lease since my buddy has been there...like six years.

It was a 285 lb bar (barrow) hog. I took the hams and the back straps, but the shoulders were messed up from the shot, so I decided not to take the mangled and/or bruised meat.

I'll drop it off at the butcher tomorrow for processing.

Oh yeah, and it looks like my new Savage .270 works JUST FINE!

Did it go right down after hit or did it get any kind of distance?

It went forward by about ten or twenty feet, but that was strictly inertia...it was hauling a$$ when I shot it!

The 270 did its job in a big way!

Very nice! I've been feeling like getting in on a good hog hunt lately and those pictures helped me decide what i'll be doing this weekend.

I'm going for a 45/50 pounder though. So good split and put in a big smoker.
ahhh. it's midnight and i'm hungry
