Thumbs up My new XD40...yah XDM40

Hi guys I just got it yesterday i gave my well used XD9 as a trade and got this XDM40. I know most of you guys thinks its thesame as the other XD's, I thought same thing until i saw at the shop and examined it closer..the difference are:

1.) Match grade barrels
2.) Interchangeable backstraps
3.) better sights.
4.) full size guide rod instead of the usual guide rod/spring. and the best part..
5.) the trigger pull is a lot better than the 1st version XDs IMHO..the slack is a lot shorter you can almost not feel the slack pretty close to a single action as you can get..i like the small back strap on mine it feels more 1911'ish to me..well here are some pics..have not shot it yet maybe sunday if i can sneak out from my wife..

Those appear to be the same mags as the original XDs, but IIRC they are higher capacity than standard XD40 mags. Can you shed some light on that? Compare the XDM mags to the originals?

Also, how are the sites better? They look to be standard 3 dot sights, although the rear sight does look to be a little more snag resistant. I'm not doubting you, just wondering if you can expound on why they're better vs. the original XD sites.

I'm thinking about making the switch, but I want to make sure I've addressed everything before I really consider it. Thanks.

Ya, how about those mags? Will the 16 round .40 XDM retrofit the XD Tactical?

I really like the "M" look, and the changes they have made. I wanted to show that model to my son, but not friggen CA approved yet. This state's gun laws just suck, now they are trying to push for ammo limits, to 50 per month, including internet purchases. I know many here are trying to fight this tooth and nail, passed the house and now is in the senate for approval.
