My First Gun

Yes, the Springfield XD-40 4" Service is my first gun. Here is my baby:

Yep, I'm in love...

Nice one!!!
Just like mine except i have the Heinie night sights...
Once you get a few hundred rounds through it, the action and trigger will smooth out.

BE SAFE and have fun!

Awesome man I bought my first gun too back in March and it was the exact same one! I can tell you 3 months and almost 600 rounds (also shooting my friend's identical .40 Service with over 6,000 rounds through), This gun never skips a beat.

I have had two FTF's with WWB ammo though, strictly bad bullets.

Good. The slide and magazine is what I'm not liking, very very stiff. But as you said, it will work out with time, right?

If you are like the rest of us only the first of many, I think I'm up to 25 or so now. The XD is a good pistol that will last the rest of your life. Buy only quality weapons and look at it as a investment in your future. At least thats what I keep telling my wife.

Dude, this is the third time I have seen those pictures on two different sites today , you must be one happy owner but I remember my first handgun purchase. My wife was upset 'cause it was getting more on hands work than she was .

The springs loosen up with loading and unloading and the trigger will smooth out with use. I got some snap caps to practice dry fire drills because I like practice training with inert rounds.

I've heard of snap caps. What are they?

IT's like a dummy round that helps prevent any damage from dry firing, but I dry fire my XD all the time, no problems.

The XD doesn't need dummy caps. I have dry fired mine thousands of times, with no problems.

Nice pistol!

Here are some new pictures:

They only had the charcoal in the color, so I might paint the holster black. But yeah, there is my new holster.
