New XD-M...It's growing on me.

There is another thread about the new XD-M, but I thought I would go ahead and post a picture here to get your opinion. Tell me what you think about the new design.

It sure looks a lot better in that pic, than it does in those crappy cell phone pictures taken in that guy's messy office...

So... I suppose this is the tactical model? I hope so, because I think the slide sticks out too far from the frame. Same reason I went with the 4" service, instead of the tactical.

I definatley like the idea of having a replaceable backstrap. Having the entire grip just one fixed plastic injection molded piece always has seemed kind of lame to me. I would definatelyl like to have the option of replacing the backstrap to customize the feel of my gun.

IMO, the jury is out on this one. I can see the point: they slimmed down the XD to make it a little easier to conceal (my guess). But, really, why did they even need to revamp the XD line? I would have guessed that spending time/effort on perfecting the existing platform (ie more caliber variety, safeties, accessories, etc) would have been better for the company that designing a completely different gun. I guess we'll just wait and see.

It looks like it comes with different sites, any idea what they are? Also, I wonder if they changed anything with the trigger?

I'm really digging the added capacity. I don't mind the new design, but I don't hate it.
