Go here:
Maintenance Tips for a Springfield XD 9mm Handgun | ExpertVillage Videos It is a series of videos (on the XD9 subcompact but should be exactly the same). It will show you how to field strip, clean and reassemble. Go buy Breakfree CLP and Hoppes no. 9 from Walmart with some cleaning patches (about $10-15 bucks for all). Then you're good to go. Good luck. Terry |

Nice gun you got there. I bought my first gun last week and it was a XD 9mm service.
Let us know how your first time shooting goes. |

Congratulations on your first firearm, and here's wishing you have a long and happy love affair with your new XD9. But be careful. Those XD's tend to multiply very quickly
