My XD with Gould and Goodrich holster (pic heavy)

Hello all, I have a thread further down with the new Crossbreed. Well this is what I got for open carry. I ordered it from Officerstore.com here'a link OfficerStore.com: HOLSTERS

I was happy to find a place that had a lot of left hand holsters. Mine is a Gould and Goodrich Goldline 802 LH.

With XD40SC in holster:

Wearing it at about 9 oclock, yes I know the belt isn't through the front loop, strapped it on for pic purposes:

Stamp on back:

These holsters are top notch IMO, the leather feels very high quality, the construction and stitching does as well. The retention is tight but not too tight. All this in a $39.99 holster? YEP. Ordered on the 1st, got yesterday. I recommend checking these out. Feel free to comment, question. Thanks for looking.

I'm not sure how I feel about the trigger being exposed. Does that bother you at all? I guess there are more than one safety for a reason, just thinking out loud.

It looks like a quality holster though. Does it hold close enough to you to conceal with a longer shirt over it?

I am confident in it's security. Like you said, there is more than one safety for a reason, including my finger. It holds the gun extremely close to the body, it would be very easy to conceal with a long shirt.

I'm with you. It is a mistake by G&G's designer on this particular holster. They make excellent leather products and I am surprised that they would make that mistake. Heck... one of the chief purposes of a holster is to protect the trigger so you don't get an AD.

But I don't think it is a deal killer in this case, it is mostly covered and the grip safety compensates.

My gun will not fire unless instructed to do so. I think there is far too much worry placed on pistols, even by pistol owners/shooters. It's like driving a car, it can be easily fatal, but I am so used to it and don't see myself ACCIDENTALLY losing control and killing someone due to my negligence and lack of knowledge.

thats a very nice holster glock killer.....

but that one pic there is WAY too much trigger exposed when the gun is fully seated....

one thing i would be careful of is when reholstering, you usually have a normal "grip" on the gun with the palm-safety engaged....all it would take for something to snag the trigger and have a Kaboom when you dont want it.......

but otherwise, very nice rig

I recently bought a Gould&Goodrich B803 Pancake holster for my XD9.Well made-nicely priced.I love it! Unfortunately not available for my XD45 4in. Any suggestions for a comparable mid-priced leather pancake holster that will fit my 45? (I'm new to this site so Hi to all of you XD lovers!)

Blackhawk recalled a bunch of Serpa holsters for the S&W m&p for that same reason...
