My first XD/handgun and a trip to the range

Well My wife and I went to the range with a group of friends who had guns and we went shooting. They had a Kimber or HK .45, .40, .38 revolver and 12 gauge. I can't remember the brands for them, but I know they weren't an XD. Somehow I only ended up in one photo with a gun, but my wife ended up in a couple.

Yesterday I went to a local gun store and was looking at the service and compact XD in the .45, but after holding the sub compact I chose the .40. I have only unloaded a 12 round clip, but so far I am happy with my purchase.

Hope you enjoy!

Welcome from PA. Looks like you have a nice toy box starting there...just a little fyi, proper terminology is magazine, not clip. The handgun your wife is shooting is a 1911, not an H&K...that's probably the Kimber. Help your wife get a proper grip on that thing with her support hand and she'll shoot even better, maybe better than you...my wife is really good and never shot anything before we were married.

It must be a bitch to hang targets there (3rd pic). Sounds and looks like you had a good time.

jtkratzer- Thanks for the lesson. Bear with me cause I am new to the whole gun vernacular. I knew it was a 1911, maybe I got the brand wrong...HK maybe? I want us both to take lessons, so we don't develop bad habits.

DSR30, Darkvibe, XDONBOARD- ROFL here in S. GA its swamp land. that range usually is dry, we just got A LOT of rain. they got their metal targets hooked up to cables for quick set up. where we shot the 12 gauge was fairly dry.

mhillsing23- here in the state of GA, military can legally carry concealed. I am going to get a permit, so that when I travel I can still be legit.

Bashman- I will check that out.

tennvol- I was just wearing sun glasses, but we are going to get a pair for the both of us.

Johnnybgood- I've got a fever and the only cure is more XD's and some accessories.
