A Late Friend's Artwork

A few months ago, one of my friends, and a fellow member of the Falls Township Rifle and Pistol Association, died of a heart attack at the age of 51. His name was Bob Schroeter.

He was a mechanic, an avid trap and sporting clays shooter, and a talented artist. He painted several of the shotguns he used, and the shotguns of a few other people (for a hefty fee.) A modest guy, he was never a guy who wanted a lot of attention (though he got a lot of it from the artwork on his firearms.)

To make a long story short, his best friend was put in charge of selling his firearms to help Bob's sister (he didn't have a wife or children) take care of extraneous costs associated with the closure of Bob's estate. I was given the first opportunity to buy one of his pieces.

I purchased Bob's Trap Gun, a Beretta 391 Urika Trap. I couldn't let this one go:

Airbrushing beneath automotive clearcoat. The pictures barely do it justice. It shoots very well (he took meticulous care of his firearms) and is currently hanging up in my room as a testament to my friend, and one helluva a conversation piece.

Ditto on the regards to your friend. That is some talent, indeed. Almost makes me think that paint job would be REALLY appropriate for an AK47! I've never seen such a paint job on a shotgun. Thanks for sharing.

My regards for the loss of your friend. That being said, that Shotgun is SWEET!! I'm not usually into "pimpin out the shotty", but I am diggin his work. I would love to see a website or something with a gallery of his work.

Send our regards to his family.
