Don't open if you have a weak stomach. (NEW PICS!!)

Ok well I thought I would share this image so everyone understands to always always always make sure there is no round in the chamber when cleaning your gun and on top of that don't put your hand in front of the barrel anyways even if you are 100% sure the chamber is cleared. Good gun safety and gun handling could have avoided this.

The story here is a kid I used to be good friends with but I haven't seen in a long time was cleaning his .40 not sure what make/model it is, but thats not the point, well turns out there was a round in the chamber and he managed to pull the trigger and discharge his firearm into his hand. This is an image that I'm putting way lower on the screen so you have the opportunity to not look at after reading what it is but if you want to see what a .40 bullet does to a hand feel free to scroll down and take a look.

So it blew off his thumb and index finger?

Looks like he was nailed to a cross.

Dude that is GNARLY.

So the bullet went into his palm and out the back of his hand?

That might be a gruesome pic but it will sure subconsciously help when I'm triple checking the XD for a strip.

I honestly am not sure how the bullet entered his hand, I did not get to personally talk to him yet. I assumed it went in the palm and came out the back but I don't know for sure. And yea I posted it because its a first hand visual reminder to triple check and even then, never put your hand in front of it.
