A good friend of mine rides a Suzuki GSX-R 1000. I remember thinking, 'That's a nice bike,' as I passed him in the carousel at Mid-Ohio this season. I owned a GSX-R for a bit and also a Suzuki TL1000S. I thought they were great bikes until I rode the Ducati. I do most of my riding on the street and I find the V-twin to be agreeable. I am usually your way once or twice a month. I ride out of central Ohio into WV via 250. I love that rode. I am always crossing into WV with a group of friends on sport bikes. Ride safe and enjoy that insanely powerful machine!!

I weigh about 245lb and normally get about 36 – 38 MPG on my 05 GSXR1000, if I used the throttle as efficiently as possible I’m sure I could get about 40 MPG especially if I didn’t weigh as much, it would take allot of self control though because once I pass half throttle the secondary injectors kick in and any chance of averaging any where near 40 MPG would be gone.

My Bandit with a stage 2 jet kit and slipon exhaust which produced over 113 HP and 78Ft Lbs of torque got 38ish in town and 40 to 42 on the highway.
My buds 600RR gets around 38 or 40. Even more if he takes it easy.

It's really a awesome ride for off road. Very easy to ride and the big tires are great for sandy washes (theres lots of those out here in Nevada). 200cc, but still enough to get you around fairly easily out in the desert. Yamaha discontinued it for some reason. It's not street legal, but this on is http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/pr...10/1/home.aspx and they still make them and you can find some used ones too.
