Nope...no action yet. Originally I had wanted to take the new rider class with my brother (also a bike noob) when he gets back from Iraq at the end of July. Now the plans have to include him getting married, taking a honeymoon, and moving himself and the new Mrs. to Ft. Hood in Texas. Priorities, I ask you?

I'm gonna try to contact him and see if it's still possible for him to do it with me while he's on leave, but I think I'll probably be going solo. And I have to sell my truck to be able to finance the school/bike/gear purchase, so that'll take a little time.

Short story long.....I ain't done nuttin yet (but have lots of good info here for reference).

With that said, of the list that you posted, the SV650 would nail what you set as your parameters.

Of course I have posted my DRZ400s before, hell I am riding it today. For gear though I love my Arai XD Motard and my textile Fieldsheer armor.
Yep....I'm already planning on buying used. I can't justify the expense of a new machine when I'm learning riding skills for the first time, and I don't want to take out a loan (even for only part of it). Used is good.

Care to share motorcycle pics

Post some pics of your rides.

I am trying to convince my wife that I need a GSXr750. Wish me luck!

gsxr

yeah, the 04 and 05 were great years for the gsxr. I'm not a real fan of the exhaust on the 06 and up. Good choice. The 750 is a great motor. Be sure you invest i some good gear though. It'll pay off.

nice bikes

Thats a nice collection. In that second pic, are you running starcross tires on pavement? That can get expensive fast.

Friend handed me the tire for free . he ordered it and came in a 18 and he needed a 19 so a free tire. wore out fast on the street. may be 150 to 200 miles, all I know is it was gone in two days of riding. I guess that is what I get for having a fire breather of a two stroke on the road.
