Wheeeew fun in Charleston!!!
Pulled the boat up to Charleston thursday night to fish a tourney up there Sat. Pre fished Friday and was lucky enough to have my 14 year old Nephew aboard for his first trip chasing Kings. Christian got a nice king as did Will (his first as well) and the guys from the team. Here are a few shots and video clips.
http://media.putfile.com/king-fight-1 http://media.putfile.com/christian-gaff-shot ![]() ![]() Here is a shot of a double Cem and Will got. we also had several other fish throughout the day. ![]() Sat. we fished hard and pulled some nice fish. Got hit with a killer storm that caught us offshore. It lasted for about 1 1/2 hours. It went from 2 ft seas to 35 knot winds and solid 6 fters. It threw a lot of wind rain and lightning at us. We stuck it out as there was no where to go and wound up putting this in the boat right after the storm. ![]() The seas layed right back down when it passed. we were wet but had a good fish to weigh in. Not a money fish but we got good points and had a fun weekend. We finished 34th out of I was told 160 boats. I will be going back to Charleston to fish again. It only took 2 1/2 hrs to pull the boat there. |

Wow, incredible! I can't wait to get back to NC on the Frying Pan Shoal with a light line, ballyhoo and one of my specially designed king rigs again.
Thanks for sharing these!

I've always wanted to go fishing in the ocean. I will after I move a little closer to it than Iowa. Note to self: Grow moustache before getting onto deep sea fishing boat for good luck.

here is a link to another short video of the same fiight. Little Christian did battle for just about 25 min. Kid hung in there like a trooper!!!
http://media.putfile.com/christian-fight-2 To answer the question, all the kings posted were High teens up to the biggest which was about 27 lbs. They are pretty good eating fish. Great on the smoker and good baked as well. Kind of an oily fish for frying though. |
