all my long guns are now evil.. (black)
So after kicking myself in the butt for not buying the stock for my 10/22 a while back, another one was in stock today when I went to the store. I had purchased a butler creek carbon fiber barrel, and now have purcahsed my fajen legacy adjustable stock. I love the way it feels. Works perfectly for me, as I had a neck surgery and it allows me to custom fit it to me so I don't have to bend my neck as much. Next I just need to get a better scope. I have never liked the one on it. it's a bushnell sharpshooter. have had it for years.
With it are my remington 1187, and my RRA AR15. Only other thing I plan on doing with any of these guns, is probably getting my 1187 refinished in a flat black and putting a 21" barrel on it so it matches up with the mag extension. Currently it has a 26" barrel. But now all my long guns are evil black. And now one has the evil thumbhole stock that makes it so deadly. I do need more long guns though. more will be in the picture with these before long I feel. ![]() |

Scope
What glass is on the AR?
I just purchased a Nikon Monarch Scope 6.5-20x 44mm for my varmit rig. It should be here Wednesday. I currently have an inexpensive Bushnell 2 x 12 on it but it ain't cutting it. I hope this scope is better.

I guess I can't complain about it too much. It's held zero and is dead on. Probably 400 rounds fired with it on and it still works perfectly. Now the only other thing I really need to do, is upgrade the trigger on my 10/22. Well, that and get a little better scope. But shhhh.. my girlfriend doesn't know I've done this to my gun lol. It's going to stay in the safe until it warms up, maybe by then she won't realize something is different about the gun. I don't know that she'd be too happy since the gun never cost me a penny, and I just spent probably $210 on it. But.. I did get a steal on the barrel. Everywhere I see it, it's about $140. I picked it up half price a month or so ago due to the store owner ordering it in for someone.. they never came to pick it up. he just wanted to get rid of it as it had sat for a long time. |

having looked at the box, the scope says it's a leapers UTG true strength. 3-9x40. it does have an illuminated reticle, mil dot, green and red. parallax adjustment ring. Overall I guess I'm fairly happy with it. for what I use it to do, it works fine. but yeah, in the future I plan on upgrading to something that is higher quality.
I did look into this scope before I bought it. I believe honestly that it is an airgun scope.. well.. rated for airguns but it was listed as airgun/rifle scope. I saw tests where it was used on really high powered, high recoiling magnum rifles and it worked perfectly. while other scopes were broken by the recoil. I figured if it can do that, I shouldn't have any problems on the AR since it doesn't recoil much at all. So far it's worked. |
