You can copy me if you like. I did mine with Testor's enamel model paint.

I did the red white and blue as well for the Springfield Armory USA. I think that looks so awesome! Except for the crossed cannon and flaming bomb logo, I used white because it shows up so well. I tried red white and blue for XD-45ACP, but those engravings aren't as deep, so it didn't show very well.

The only other color I used was gold for the crossed cannon \ flaming bomb logo, which I think also looks really good in that color. I took special time to do the logo, but leave Croatia black. Too bad the whole gun isn't made in the USA, but what can you do these days?

Missmyjeep, it's hard to say b/c normal use is so subjective. It depends on lots of factors like how much you shoot it, how often its holstered and in what kind of holster, and probably the biggest factor is how often you clean it, and what chemicals you use. Mine's lasted for months now shooting it at the range a couple times per month, holstering it in a fobus & crossbreed holster, and cleaning it after pretty much every range trip. The key when cleaning is to lightly wipe the area and not use much solvent.
