The 22 conversion just uses the existing frame. The slide and barrel come with the kit.

I'd like to know why there aren't more companies working on this...

+1 With the raising cost of ammo, I'm wondering why every semi-auto doesnt have a .22 caliber conversion.

Laws of supply and demand.

If companies see the demand they will make the product.

XD's popularity has come up in the last few years, but there still aren't as many out there as Glocks and 1911's.

I hope so, I'd love to have it. You could shoot 1,000 rounds for under $20, I could really justify that to my wife. Guess I'll just have to go with the 40 to 9mm for now...

Got tired of waiting. Picked up a Ruger S.S. 22/45 in the mean time. Sure hope someone jumps on this money making opportunity soon.

Has anyone contacted Springfield Armory to see if they have considered this option? With ammo prices continuing to go through the roof, this would be an awesome marketing tool for the XD line.

Hmmm.... maybe we could stir the pot a bit by all of us dropping SA an email inquiring on a .22 conversion barrel. sales@springfield-armory.com
