Norm,

Not sure if you will agree, but the XD feels even better in the hand with a magwell. It forces your hand up high, where it should be. Also, during a draw, your hand hits the frame in the same place, each time.

It really does help with my draws they end up being more consistent and consistency is what helps win matches.

This year I am going to shoot this gun 90% of the time so that my draws and reloads can be the same through out the year. Last year switching between Major and Minor really threw me for a loop.

If you have black basepads I would take those too they don't have to be silver. Can you get the Pearce pads to work with your magwell because they just don't quite work on mine?

Very Nice, I am almost there. I had alot of work done to mine to make it a L10 gun and have shot it in one match and placed 2nd for the first time with it. Here is a link to mine. Work Done By DG Custom, Springfield, Mo I need to get the money together for the magwell and basepads. Then I will be right there with you. Very nice review and very nice piece. One thing I had done that I really like is I had the serrations or ridges taken off the trigger and chromed it. It makes it very smooth and it just rolls on the trigger pull now.

Ya it really is a hell of a gun. I love having a gun where there is nothing I would change. Ok that isn't true I might add a set of rear Dawson sights, but that is the last thing I SWEAR!!

I just hope they wait a while to come out with a .40 on the .45 frame because my pocketbook is all dried up at the moment!

sturmruger...what can I say! OUT-FREAKIN-STANDING!!! That's one beautiful XD-40 TAC. It looks like I need to get one of those Dawson FS for my XD-45 CCW carry AND a trigger job. I really like the look of the hard-chrome.

Oh..and BBunin - that's also one fine looking XD-40 TAC. Maybe not as much Bling-Bling as strumruger but she looks mean-enough! That's a great looking STI too!

I chose the matte hard chrome finish instead of the really bling finish. Someday I will send my 9mm out get finished as well. I like all my stuff to match.
