XD-40sc Range Report

I took the XD-40sc to the range to try some new loads I worked up. I put a Rainier 165gr FP over 5.6gr of W231. This was the first time I've used W231 and i've got to say I like it. Load data I found said this would yield 930fps and a PF of 153.4 - Very crisp snap to it compared to other powders I've used. The target was at a indoor range setup at 10 yards.

Not bad! I've found the sub compact isnt as acurate as the 4 inch and 5 inch barrels. But with practice its still damn good for a short barreled handgun!

That's funny; I've found that mine seems to be more accurate than my friend's service...I guess it varies, eh?

I couldn't shoot the compact XD near as well as my SW99 4" but with enough practice and knowing the XD a bit better I'm finally able to control it enough to be competitive with the longer guns.
