From my understanding, you wont see many due to so many breakages.

That's only on the 9mm from what I could recall. I really want to do my XD45, now that would be crazy.

So what was breaking on them? And are they like the Glocks with the holes drilled on the tops?

And correct me if I’m wrong but the ports are to help keep the gun from rising on you right? Does it do anything to the velocity of the round?

They look like this (from SA's website):
![]() Not sure about velocity, but yes.. it's for recoil management. It also has the drawback of blinding you in low-light, making follow-up shots difficult because you're still seeing stars. Last edited by XDAndMe; 09-30-2006 at 11:57 PM. |

It helps out a lot. I have shot a XD9 V10 and a regular XD9 with the compensator on it and the V10 has much less recoil. I was shooting 9mm major rounds at the time and the percusion from the V10 was unreal. By far one of the loudest gun I have ever fired. I likey.

Hey, I wasn't knocking it... just stating a fact. I woudln't mind firing one for giggles. I have to say though, at the last couple of gun shows I went to, I didn't see any ported XD's whatsoever.
