Just Installed A Talon Grip and Painted Engravings (picts)
functionality wise i definitely needed some grip due to recoil wedging the gun out of my sweaty hands so i order a talon rubber textured grip online and it finally came and i just installed it. i cant wait to take it to the range and try it out. it already feels amazing during dry fire with snap caps.
i also wanted some customization so i painted the engravings red with nail polish. came out great although i think the next color i go for will be gold....or maybe green haha.
anyways here are some picts of my beautiful xd 9

I can honestly say I've never seen a weapon light like that. Does it work under recoil?

Man that looks good. I think a polished barrel with the combination of that weapon light would make it look amazing. Really like the colored engravings. I am thinking about doing my engravings because my significant other has nail polish pens that will fit in the engravings.
How does the grip feel?

You might want to blur out your serial in photoshop or paint there. Not a big deal, just saying that's what I'd do.

is it really that big of an issue blurring out the serial number? i have seen some people do it and some not. what bad things can people do with it?
the light isnt a true weapon light, just an LED light i put in a RIS ring until i can get a nice tac light (hopefully for Christmas). better that for night time than nothing for now. It hasn't undergone a stress test during a range visit at all.
the engraving painting was really easy. took like an hour and a half to do all the engravings but that's because i did like 4 coats. definitely needed to do a lot of coats to get the red to show up nicely.
thanks for the positive feedback

As far as blurring out your serial number it's been said someone could use it for insurance fraud. They get the number and call their insurance co and say their gun has been stolen and use your serial number then collect insurance money. If you ever get pulled over by the police or a potential buyer checks your serial number it would come up as stolen. That's what I heard anyway. If you have your receipt you'll be fine but it's just a hassle if something like that happened.
