Years! I did mine over 3 years ago and its still perfect. I also agree with a previous post that a polished barrel would look great. I polished mine by hand, you'll have to use sandpaper to remove the machining lines. You wont notice them until you start to polish it. Very nice setup there.
I have wanted to get a black side and polish the lower rail like pic below, I think that would be slick.

Looks good! It's probably just the lighting but I thought the engravings were pink at first
