My rule of thumb is to take the stated sleeping capacity, subtract one, cut in half and round down.

I have a family of 5 (three kids under age 10) and we use an eight person tent and a seven person tent when we camp. Using my formula, both sleep 3.

Thanks for sharing! Where were you camping in these pics? It looks really nice and secluded.

You have to love adventures in camp cooking! Iron pans are camping gear right?

For breakfast, we brought a 5lb slab of Virginia Traditions bacon (http://virginiatraditions.com/Smoked-Bacon-Slab.aspx , yeah you've never had bacon this good unless you grew up on a pig farm) and carved off some thick slices to cook in an iron pan over a fire.

Then we put the bacon, eggs (cooked in the grease of course), cheese, and salsa on some tortilla shells we crisped up a bit over the open flames and passed around a bottle of good bourbon...BEST...BREAKFAST...EVER!

Now for a less successful dinner. Do you think the fire is hot enough for the iron Dutch oven?

Yeah I'd say the corn bread is done!

Surprisingly inside the blackened external layer was salvagable moist cornbread!

Put my Kelty Acadia 4 to use this past weekend.

Just got the Fiskars X7. For $22, I figured why not. I still plan on getting a Gransfors Bruks Wildlife hatchet though.

Fiskar makes great stuff! I have the X7 hatchet also and a pair of their large gardening shears. I think all their stuff is worth about 4 times what you pay for it!

Yeah man I'm pretty impressed with it so far. They could charge double and it would still be a great value.

Zombie Hunter, most open fire cooking is best done over hot coals rather than a burning flame. Try your cornbread that way next time.
