The crayon does work well and last much longer than you think it would.

I don't know. It was my first time doing this. I did it with crayon first to see how I liked it. Turned out good. I'm going to refinish my slide and get it permanently done.

I tried something funky the other day with the crayons. I used a green metallic color on the whole slide, including the words. Obviously the green metallic is in the words, but the metallic only is on the whole slide.
It gives it a metallic sparkle finish all over the slide. Looks pretty cool. It just takes some warmth on the slide to apply and remove it.

still looks slick.
