Does anyone know if there has been any change in the grip of the XD's? I am just a little pissed because the .45 I handled WAS bigger than my 40 and that was the reason I bout the 40 because it felt better....
The grip of the .45ACP XD is in fact bigger than all other models of XD. No ifs ands or buts.

No I am telling you that it is not notisably different at all. I will take some pics this weekend but unless I look at the 40 or 45 on the side I cant tell which is which. NO JOKE.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, there is a distinction in size between 45acp XDs and other models; the difference is barely perceptible. I think front to back, it's something like 1/10th of an inch wider. It used to say on SA's website when they initially announced the 45acp model. I’m not positive, but I believe that the overall length is longer also, in addition to length of the grip. Does someone have the official numbers? I looked for the side by side comparison pictures and numbers that Oldshool posted way back when, and found the post, but there were no pictures in it any longer.

Love em. Only problem is that they move a little bit after firing a few rounds. Nothing significant. I did spray hair spray on the inside but they still move.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Black or ODG on an ODG XD, whatever you prefer. For me, I actually like the contrast of a black grip on an ODG XD better but that's just me. Lately, I have been steering away from the Hogue for all my guns as it just doesn't hold up as well as the Pachmayr #3, both of which have to be trimmed to clear the grip safety. The Pachmayr is a lot more forgiving when it comes to trimming. The Hogue has a tendency to rip at the trim point. Advantage: Pachmayr #3 IMHO. Now if Pachmayr would only offer it in ODG . (Slide is out at Robar getting refinished so this will have to do.)

Where did you order that color for the Green grip. I just ordered the Hogue Handall grip (i'm assuming this is the same grip) and placed it for OD Green but in all the other pictures i find of it they look more like the desert green color rather than the deeper color like on yours.
enlighten me

btw your pics are amazing and i love your taste in color, i just purchased my first XD (OD Green 9mm service)

first post ftw
