Well, I know that it's not a xd, but it is my everyday carry until I finish off my xd40sc. It is in a custom color duracoat, a S&W .38 special airweight. It is incredibly accurate for a snubnose and will handle +p ammo just fine. I carry it in a smartcarry IWB holster at 12 oclock, 100% concealment. Thanks for lookin!

I'm thinking of trying it someday.
Not sure which spray gun to buy?

It appears you did well on this.
Nice final project.

It is not hard to do at all, there is a lot of info and videos about duracoating on the web. I bought a cheap airbrush from harbor freight (12 dollars) and it worked great for me. I've done 3 pistols now and am moving on to rifles and shotguns next. Go for it! The prep work is more important than the actual spraying for great long lasting results. Thanks!

how does that stuff hold up when cleaning.

i know when i clean my .38 i have scrubbed the factory coating off that is on the top strap and in some other areas as well. i intend to have mine nickle plated or fail zero'ed one of these days. havent quite decided yet.

Looks great but next time...don't point it at your face I'm just giving you a hard time because I wish I had the patience to do this.
